  • West Newton Update: 150M -350M Barrels of oil/gas?

The West Newton discovery is now on track to be the largest UK onshore discovery since 1973,  (Wytch Farm). This is huge, of National importance to the UKs energy security. The B-1Z well encountered a gross 62 metre hydrocarbon bearing reservoir interval in the primary Kirkham Abbey target formation, as of now the declared ‘scores on the doors’ are an oil/gas column of at least 118 metres, significantly exceeding previous observations.

Lot of information will start to filter through over the weeks and months, the difficulty is that you have to sort out the wheat from the chaff. The big question is how does this latest discovery convert into barrels of oil? That’s the question yet to be officially confirmed. But make no mistake Rathlin and the partners have done the calculations. As soon as production casing has been run then I’d expect news. Possibly even before..

However sources, indicate that the West Newton players believe that the oil/gas in place will significantly increase. Reservoir/accumulation on this discovery all but nails it! When company’s tell you that they’re sat on the biggest onshore UK discovery since Wytch Farm then I’d tend to believe them!

The range of the barrelage, which is obviously unconfirmed and subject to all the usual caveats as per my last article, is 150M BOE up to 350M+ BOE. Now regardless of where the needle eventually settles those numbers are phenomenal.

As for will it flow? Does a bear shit in the woods? Enhanced porosities of over 14%. observed on wireline logs, says it will. Plus I’m hearing that this discovery is more oil than gas.

West Newton is a multi-billion dollar play now. So expect some predatory action round about or just before Extended well testing….

  • Sound Energy Moroccan Gas Flare By Night! Exclusive Footage!

Sound Energy Moroccan Gas Flare By Night! Exclusive Footage!

About time I started releasing some of the footage and photo’s taken from my Sound Energy (LON: SOU) trip. I’ve got literally hours of footage. This is the gas flare at TE7. AS CLOSE AS I COULD GET. The heat, not to mention the noise, was tremendous. I could only take the footage in 20 second bursts before my eyes started to see ‘glare’ bit like looking into a fire when one looks a way you see blotches or in this case blotches as big as a house…

You can feel the vibration in the ground from this flare. Raw energy coming up from beneath. Great spectacle at night.

The next big news here is the Tendrara 8 or TE8 drill. Remember no doubt that they’ll find gas at TE8 question is how big will it be. As I see it their share-price is basically under-pinned at the moment on expectation of TE8, Sidi Moktar and Badille. Any news on drilling of the above 3 assets should further inflate their sp. Now there’s a good chance that this sp could go on a charge in the run up to the TE8 drill. It’ll be the usual set of criteria that moves their sp i.e. TE8 Pad preparations, rig mobilisation, spud etc.

  • Sound Oil Tight Lipped & Nervous on Nervesa.

More gas on the way. More cash on the way!
More gas on the way. More cash on the way!

Sound Oil (LON: SOU) have been quietly going about doing the business in Italy.  The share price hasn’t really done any thing other than mainly stay static. 10.5/11p. It’s actually maintained a stable holding pattern considering the oil price has plummeted, while news has been sparse. The strength of the Company fundamentally and asset wise is reflected by the stability in the share-price. Every thing is now lined up. Cornerstone investor, two producing assets, cash revenue coming in, Italians (ex-ENI) all in place on the Board, Italian bureaucracy, streamlined, High net worth’s involved, Nervesa about to be drilled, Cash in the bank, basically debt free. Lot of maneuvering  has gone on to get Sound oil to this place in time. Lift off is here.

When I say ‘sparse’ I mean the Company are deliberately tight lipped. Always a sign that they’re sat on price sensitive news and don’t want a leak to ‘outside of the tenters’ such as yours truly.  A communications lock down means they’re ‘nervous on Nervesa.’

    Albert & Sound
    About to go ballistic

There’s a lot of news about to come through as they gear up for what the Company describe as  ‘an exciting period of back-to-back drilling’, which commences with site operations at Nervesa in a matter of  a few weeks or two. News has reached the blog that all is on track for a major  announcement over the coming week/s. Just what that is, isn’t known. But it’s almost certainly good news, bearing in mind that the flagship asset, Nervesa  is about to go ‘operational’. Once this is announced then it’s game on for the sp. It will begin to climb. I expect the sp to double in value from where it currently stands. Then we have news on the exploration play that is Badile. A massive gas play that would catapult Sound oil into the arms of a major international oil company, never to be seen again. Gone, taken over for the good of Italy.

I’ve been trying to get an interview with the boy Parsons (CEO), the man’s a difficult fish to land. Particularly as he’s a frequent flyer, flying back and forth across Europe. Last spotted having a cappuccino with an Italian energy minister.  We’re not supposed to know that! It’s no wonder that Continental Investment partners (Sounds’ ‘cornerstone Investor’) have agreed to throw more cash into the hat via one of their affiliated partners Greenberry S.A. It’s money for jam for them. They know (Unlike most) that they’re going to get a hefty return on the investment. Nervesa remains a Major project for Sound Oil with an estimated NPV10 of circa US$66,000,000 million (100%). Which will probably rise.

    Tight lipped.

I’ve been keeping my eye on Italy news wise. The Italian oil and gas permitting process has now been cleaned up making life a lot easier re’ the permitting process. This was announced back in late August of this year by their Prime Minister.

Remember Nervesa is a huge gas discovery, once it comes on stream the sp should be transformed. It can only go one way. UP↑. Even as the oil price struggles Sound will reap huge benefits from Nervesa which is as those in the know know, gas, which is as those in the know know, highly sought after in Italy. Premium prices being paid.

    Not so ‘tight lipped’

According to one recent article “Italy is the new Texas.” With over 40 small to middle oil companies on the verge of unlocking proven oil/gas resources. Sound Oil being one of them mentioned in the same article as? ENI!

    Happy Days

  • Horse Hill Scoop!

    Horse Hill Scoop!

Hot on the success of our major Horse Hill oil discovery scoop I see that some over on ShareProphets have their nose out of joint by the scoop and what a tremendous scoop that was. Let’s get one or two things straight. We here do not tell people to buy, sell or hold shares unlike “Other” financial sites and we here are not paid by companies for articles or presentations. Unlike “Other” financial sites. We are totally independent & dependent on ourselves.

I reported yesterday that our research & sources (who by the way do not work for any of the company’s involved with the drill or are in any way whatsoever regulated) had come up with the oil discovery in the Portland news, with numbers between 15-20 million barrels OIP. Ben T from SP, points out that as yet it’s not  “a commercial discovery” but in reality it is a commercial discovery in all but name. It awaits the rubber stamp. Ben needs to check out producing Portland assets in the Weald Basin. Some have far less than 200,000 barrels let alone millions of barrels.

Today we get the news  as foretold, that the Company, who are better placed than my sources, confirmed that they had “A preliminary most likely estimate of 3.1 million barrels (“mmbbl”) of gross in place hydrocarbon volume has been calculated within the upper Portland, with a further gross unrisked in place prospective hydrocarbon volume of 16.8 mmbbl of oil in a separate lower sand in the Portland interval located in an untested fault block to the south.” – Now forgive me for not actually getting the exact oil split on Discovery, OIP & Unrisked volume. We are constantly beavering away working our magic on a number of shares. Unless we get into the meetings and write the RNS’s we would never get this sort of detailed inside information.

As for Ben’s conclusion that sic “this significantly strengthens the view that he was passed this information by someone who knew the real figures. Dan certainly didn’t make the figures up and in his position I would have rushed to publish such hot news” – I raise a wry smile.  I bet you would.

As with our proclaimed ethos here on the worlds most controversial libellous financial site. We get the news, we publish it. It is up to each and every one to take responsibility for their decisions on it or not as the case may be!

Well done to all of the BMD Guerrilla Investors on the ground at Horse Hill, who assisted in getting the news.

  • Sound Oil The Swiss are coming!

More gas on the way. More cash on the way!
More gas on the way. More cash on the way!

For all those familiar with the Sound Oil story here’s a quick update.

There’s a Swiss clock ticking over at Sound Oil (LON: SOU) Hot off the press and following on from the James Parsons & Director Luca Madeddu UK private investor share-holder get together, after their successful presentation at the 67th Oil Barrel, news is coming through on BMD’s black telephone that there’s a secret, yes secret, private international investor presentation in the pipeline (at the request of an Institution) to be held some where in Europe. It’s all very ‘hush, hush’. So keep it quiet. We don’t want questions raised such as? ‘Why are international investors desperate to get there Swiss franc into Sound Oil just before a potential official farm-in RNS? Do we?

These are not UK investors these are Swiss by birth. Are they private Bankers, Chocolatiers’ or makers of Swiss army knives? We don’t know, but what we do know is that It would seem this could be tied to an impending big news release on a potential International Oil Company farming-in to the huge exploration play that is Badile. This farm-in could be a Company Maker and when announced will push Sound oil stock like a juggernaut

The early bird catches a Swiss Roll….
